Low Stool by Audoux & Minet France, c. 1950s

A low stool by Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The round seat is formed from braided rush coiled in a spiral, set on three splayed oak legs fixed with screws, each leg ending in a stepped foot. The rush has kept its warm natural tone, and the oak has darkened to a deep brown with visible grain and tool marks.
