Antique Wooden Grain Chest, Scandinavian Wabi Sabi, c. 1800s
A provincial grain chest in solid pine, Norway, 19th century. Of rectangular form with a hinged lid and original iron fittings, raised on shaped end supports. The surface with a rich patina, showing traces of earlier paint beneath a later dark stain, adding depth and character to the piece. Wear consistent with age and use. Marks, minor losses and surface irregularities. Structurally sound.
